US Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $540

After reading the news about panic petrol buying and Spanish airport strikes it was nice to read something that brought a little hope rather than depressing news. The Mega Millions jackpot in the US is at an amazing $540 million for tonight's draw after no one has managed to win the jackpot since January. 

Apparently the jackpot is the highest lottery prize in the world so people have been going crazy queueing for up to six hours for tickets hoping that they can match the correct Mega Millions results. I thought when the Euromillions winners last year won £161 million that was ridiculous so I couldn't even imagine winning $540 million. It'll be interesting to see if one lucky person manages to win over half a billion dollars in tonight's draw or whether it rolls over again and gets even bigger - surely it can't reach $1 billion!
